A hand-woven wool dhurrie in blue with geometric pattern β woven in round form on a flatweave ground. Round dhurries are less common than rectangular: the circular weaving requires adjusting tension on the loom as the diameter expands. The blue reads saturated and bold, the geometric pattern built in the modular vocabulary of flatweave construction. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur by dhurrie artisans working in the Uttar Pradesh flatweave tradition. Dhurries are woven flat without pile. Suited to defining zones within a room or layering over larger floor covering. 100% wool, flatweave.
