



Split like a fissure in memory, the composition sets an earthen grid of bruised ochres and soot-black seams against a nocturnal portrait rendered in cool blues, where the face emerges and recedes as if caught between confession and concealment. The left panel’s fractured geometry reads as a mapped territory—walls, streets, or scars—while the right panel’s cropped features and heavy shadows turn identity into a tense silhouette, private and politicized at once. Across the seam, warmth collides with cold, making the work feel like a dialogue between place and person, exterior history and interior endurance, each side illuminating the other through absence as much as through presence.
