Marapachi Dolls, also known as Marapachi Bommais, literally translates to β€˜wooden dolls’. Marapachi Dolls are an important part of South Indian culture and rituals. Generally made in male-female pairs, they are often used as playthings that children dress up and are also symbolic gifts during marriages. A rare and old find from the Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu, these Marapachi Dolls are cast in bronze, making them a prized collectible for true connoisseurs. The male figure measures 3 x 3 x 9.5 inches and the female figure is 3 x 3 x 8.5 inches.
