"Maati ka bartan hai pyaare, maati mein mil jaana ha"...
Humans and the matki, both eventually return to Mother Earth at the end of their lives. This artwork is part of the 'Maati' series, which depicts human emotions while highlighting the humble ‘matki’ (earthen pots made of maati or mud), as the hero. Drawing parallels between ‘us’ and the matki, the artist has portrayed different facets of human life in this series of artworks.
This artwork emphasizes the importance of being true to who we are. Society has created labels for anyone who doesn't fit into a mould, or defies the norm. When someone calls us 'different', why not smile, hold up our head and be proud of ourselves? Not everyone who wanders is lost, and being different is not a bad thing. If we all keep trying to conform and be 'normal', we might never reach our true potential and discover the amazing things in store for us.
