This work stages an urban memory as a warm, weathered palimpsest—architectural silhouettes rising and dissolving within a blush of terracotta and ember, as if the city were being recalled rather than recorded. Sweeping diagonal veils of light cut through the composition like late-afternoon glare, interrupting the rigid geometry with atmospheric tenderness and a sense of motion. Fine linear tracings suggest doors, windows, and facades, yet they remain deliberately provisional, turning the built environment into a metaphor for impermanence and the quiet fragility of belonging. The painting’s heat and haze hold tension between structure and erosion, inviting the viewer to inhabit a place that flickers between sanctuary and ruin.
