A hand-woven wool dhurrie in charcoal with Aztec-inspired geometry β the stepped diamond motifs laid in horizontal kilim bands across a flatweave ground. Dhurries are flatweave carpets woven without pile, lighter and more practical than knotted work, suited to spaces that see traffic. The Aztec pattern β bold stepped forms in multicolor against the charcoal field β draws from Central American textile traditions but is executed in the Uttar Pradesh flatweave vocabulary. Woven in Bhadohi by carpet artisans working in the dhurrie tradition. The charcoal grounds the geometry without softening it. A flatweave with no pile, 100% wool.
