Rare Deccan brass Nandi palki (palanquin) finials upcycled into bookends with custom-made stands. Palanquins, or βpalkiβ, are litter-type conveyances that have been in use in India for centuries. These striking finials would have adorned the pole ends that were used to support and carry the compartment or the deity in processions from Shaivite monasteries.
The sizes of the two pieces are 12.5 (H) x 16 (W) x 7 (D) inches and 11.5 (H) x 16 (W) x 7 (D) inches.
