



Beautifully embellished oleograph of “Tirupathi Venkateswarar” by the artist K.S. Siddalinga Swami of Mysore. The oleograph is signed and dated 1933. The image depicts Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared on earth to save mankind from the trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. He is the presiding deity of Venkateswara Temple, Tirupati. In his upper hands he carries the shankha and the chakra, the lower right hand is in Abhaya Mudra and the left rests on his hip. This oleograph has been beautifully decorated by the original owner with beads and sequins. Some of these have come loose over time within the frame.
