Air India Poster

A delightful collectible in excellent condition, this is an Air India poster from 1964, used by the airline company to promote its flights to the popular holiday destination of Sydney, Australia. Air India used to provide travel agents with posters as part of its advertising and sales promotion activities. One of India’s most recognisable and loved mascots, the Air India Maharajah can be seen in the poster, along with a mermaid, enjoying a sun-kissed beach in Sydney. The subtly humorous poster pays great attention to detail, too – some Air India-branded goodies can be seen in the bag lying next to the mermaid on the sand. Printed on high quality paper, the poster is framed and comes with a glass covering.
