Originally a turban craft rooted in the celebration of monsoon, Laheriya is a tie-dye tradition from Rajasthan. The animation inherent in dyed stripes results in a sense of movement akin to rainfall.
βKukasβ kota silk sari features the 'Mothda' pattern (named after 'dal moth' or a grain of dal), which refers to small checks created by overlapping Laheriya stripes. Lime chevron stripes overlap the contrasting rani pink stripes to form a checkered pattern. This sari is reversible and either end of the textile can form the palla.
This handwoven textile reflects natural variations within yarn, color, weave and/or embroidery.
The sari is paired here with the 'Paota' blouse.
Blouse is not included.
