A hand-tufted wool carpet in ivory with multicolor Gabbeh-style pattern β abstract geometric and tribal motifs built up in pile across the field. Tufting builds a denser pile than flatweave: yarn punched into a backing and finished from above. The Gabbeh style β loose geometric forms, animal figures, abstract symbols in blues, reds, greens against ivory β draws from Persian tribal carpet traditions but is executed in the Uttar Pradesh tufted carpet vocabulary. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur. The ivory grounds the multicolor work. Suited to contemporary and traditional interiors. 100% wool pile.
