A hand-knotted wool carpet in red with multicolor traditional motifs β the pattern worked in pile across the field in medallion and border vocabulary. Hand-knotted construction builds density and durability: each knot tied individually on a loom, the wool pile rising from the backing in three-dimensional relief. The traditional pattern β central medallion, corner spandrels, bordered field β draws from Persian and Central Asian carpet design but is executed in the Uttar Pradesh knotting tradition. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur by carpet artisans. The red grounds the multicolor work in blues, greens, ivories. Suited to formal interiors where pattern anchors the floor. 100% wool pile.
