Originally a turban craft rooted in the celebration of monsoon, Laheriya is a tie-dye tradition from Rajasthan. The animation inherent in dyed stripes results in a sense of movement akin to rainfall.
βBaroniβ rani pink kota silk sari features lime stripes. Drawing from the work 'adha' meaning askew, the adiya or diagonal stripes create visual rhythm when the sari is draped. It is punctuated with floral butis zardozi - embroidered with gold zari, drawing from Rajasthani archival textiles.
This handwoven textile reflects natural variations within yarn, color, weave and/or embroidery.
The sari is paired here with the 'Ganjam' blouse.
Blouse is not included.
