A hand-tufted carpet in red and ivory wool with floral pattern, the naturalistic motifs built up in pile across the surface. Floral carpets work in a vocabulary separate from geometry β leaves, stems, blossoms, vine work β drawn from the Indo-Persian textile tradition that has moved through South Asian weaving for centuries. Red and ivory together read as classic pairing, the contrast warm enough to anchor a room without overwhelming it. Tufting builds pile by punching yarn into a backing and finishing from above, the technique producing denser surface than flatweave. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur by artisans working hand-tufting looms in the Uttar Pradesh tradition. The floral pattern suits living rooms, bedrooms, sitting areas where the floor needs covering and the room can take ornament without feeling overstuffed.
