Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity, and the wife of Lord Vishnu. Along with Parvati and Saraswati, she forms the holy trinity, or Tridevi. Goddess Lakshmi is seen here holding the lotus flower in two of her hands, which is a symbol for fortune and self-knowledge. A detailed and intricate arch surrounds her figure that stands on an inverted lotus, with animals supporting the base of the arch. This exquisite sculpture of Lakshmi is made using the lost wax process.
