Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity, and the wife of Lord Vishnu. Along with Parvati and Saraswati, she forms the holy trinity, or Tridevi. Goddess Lakshmi is seen here holding the lotus flower in two of her hands, which is a symbol for fortune and self-knowledge. Her other two hands are in the abhaya mudra and varada mudra. She is seated on an inverted lotus, while a detailed and intricate arch surrounds her figure. This exquisite sculpture of Goddess Lakshmi is made using the lost wax process.
